Our Story
In January 2011, eight women gathered in a West Philadelphia row home — pastors and preachers who loved the Lord and loved the work, but were tired of doing it solo. Rev. Dr. Kimberlee A. Johnson, a seasoned ordained minister and educator had a vision—a strong fellowship where clergywomen didn't have to shrink, compete, or explain themselves. A place where one’s calling is taken seriously and one’s gifts are celebrated and nurtured. A place where ministers from various backgrounds and years of experience in ministry can be sharpened and resourced.
Women began inviting others. Today, the Fellowship of Women Clergy connects hundreds of women from a variety of Christian denominations, across 28 states — providing a unique and effective model for the consistent edification of women leaders.
